Campi ya Kanzi is located in Kuku Group Ranch, a 280,000-acre area of Southern Kenya owned by a community of 7,000 Maasai, making it one of the last unspoiled areas of Africa. Connecting three national parks (Chyulu, Tsavo and Amboseli), the property is home to vast wildlife and birdlife populations.
The Chyulu Hills are among the youngest hills on the planet:
some of the lava outflows age less than 200 years. Hemingway
hunted here, and his book The Green Hills of Africa and short
story The Snows of Kilimanjaro both refer to this fascinating
and iconic land. This land is where we all come from: our
transformation from apes to human beings happened right
here.

The Chyulu represent the Eastern border of this
Maasailand.
The biodiversity of the ecosystem is impressive. Kuku Group
Ranch contains more than 1,000 tree species, more than 400 bird
species, and more than 60 large mammal species. This is due to
the diversity of habitats, from the clouds forest of the Chyulu
Hills to the plains toward the foothills of Kilimanjaro,
passing through savanna, riverine forest, acacia woodland,
springs and a lake.
This is truly the most iconic safari land: Kilimanjaro dominates the view; elephants and lions roam free in true wilderness; giraffes and zebras cover the plains, and Maasai warriors contemplate.
